The Himachal Pradesh government announced that it will release the next instalment of the dearness allowance before Diwali, as confirmed by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
Himachal Pradesh's state administration confirmed that the upcoming dearness allowance (DA) instalment will be credited to eligible government employees before the Diwali festival. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu made the statement during a press briefing, emphasizing that the timing is intended to help staff manage festive expenses.
The DA component, which adjusts salaries to offset inflation, is paid in periodic instalments across the year. By aligning the next payout with the Diwali period, the government aims to provide timely financial relief to its workforce.
Officials said the disbursement will follow the usual procedural channels and reach bank accounts of all entitled employees on schedule. No additional changes to the allowance rate were announced.
The move has been welcomed by employee unions, who view the timely release as a supportive gesture during the country's major holiday season.
