The Himachal Pradesh administration has officially denied any plan to lease out the profitable units of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC).

The Himachal Pradesh government issued a statement rejecting proposals to lease the profitable units of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC). The clarification was provided by a senior government spokesperson, who said no such transaction is under consideration.

HPTDC, which manages hotels, resorts and other tourism assets across the state, has recently been cited in media reports as a potential source of revenue through leasing. While the corporation’s financial performance has been strong, officials emphasized that any decision on asset monetisation will follow a formal review process.

The denial comes as the state explores broader strategies to boost its finances, but the government has not ruled out future discussions on restructuring or private participation in other sectors.
