The Governor of Himachal Pradesh presented new blankets to the pediatric ward of Indira Gandhi Medical College in Shimla, aiming to enhance comfort for young patients.

Shimla, Himachal Pradesh – The Governor of Himachal Pradesh visited Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) and formally handed over a set of blankets to the hospital's pediatric ward. The donation was part of the state government's effort to improve the amenities available to children receiving treatment.

During the brief ceremony, hospital officials thanked the Governor for the gesture, noting that the additional blankets would help keep young patients warm, especially during the colder months. The blankets, sourced from a state‑run welfare scheme, are intended for use in the ward's inpatient and recovery areas.

The Governor emphasized the importance of child health services and encouraged continued support for healthcare infrastructure in the region. Hospital administrators said the contribution will be immediately distributed among the ward's beds, benefiting patients and their families.

The event underscores the state’s ongoing focus on strengthening medical facilities in Himachal Pradesh, particularly those serving vulnerable groups such as children.
