A helicopter from Patna has delivered dry rations to families affected by the recent disaster in Paanapur block, Saran district. An additional helicopter was dispatched from Gorakhpur in response to increased demand.
A helicopter departed from Patna early this morning to drop dry rations on families affected by the recent disaster in Paanapur block of Saran district. The air‑drop reached several villages where ground access remained difficult due to damaged roads and flooding.
The operation was coordinated by the district relief office, which arranged for the helicopter to land at a designated drop zone and distribute the supplies to the most vulnerable households. The rations were packed in sturdy, weather‑proof packets to ensure they remained intact during the drop.
Following reports of a higher than expected need for relief items, authorities requested an additional helicopter from Gorakhpur. The extra aircraft was dispatched shortly after the first drop and is expected to deliver more supplies to the area.
Officials say the air‑drop is part of a broader relief effort that includes food, water, and medical aid. They urged residents to stay alert for further assistance and to report any additional needs to local authorities.
