Srinagar saw a surge in security presence as BJP and Jammu & Kashmir National Conference rallies drew crowds, prompting authorities to deploy additional police and security forces to prevent clashes.
Police and paramilitary units were positioned around key locations in Srinagar, including the central market and the main bus stand, as part of a broader security strategy to manage the growing crowds.
The move follows a series of rallies by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Jammu & Kashmir National Conference (NC), led by Omar Abdullah, which have attracted thousands of supporters in the capital.
Officials said the increased presence was aimed at preventing any potential clashes between the opposing groups and ensuring public safety, while also allowing the protests to proceed peacefully.
