Intense rainfall in Bengaluru today has caused widespread traffic jams and stranded commuters across the city.
Heavy rain fell across Bengaluru on Tuesday, turning main roads into rivers of water and causing traffic snarls that lasted for hours.
The sudden downpour halted buses, auto-rickshaws and private vehicles, leaving thousands of commuters stranded at key junctions such as MG Road and Jayanagar.
City traffic police deployed additional officers and set up temporary water drains to mitigate the flooding, but the volume of vehicles overwhelmed the measures.
Local residents reported that many had to walk to work or wait for public transport to resume, highlighting the vulnerability of the city’s transport infrastructure to sudden weather events.
