Heavy Rainfall Triggers Thunderstorm Warning Across Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

Heavy rain showers swept across large parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana early on Monday, prompting the state weather offices to raise a thunderstorm warning. The warning, issued by the India Meteorological Department in coordination with state agencies, advises residents to expect strong gusts, lightning and localized flooding. Authorities have urged people to avoid non‑essential travel, secure loose objects and stay indoors during the most intense periods. Emergency services are on standby to respond to any incidents, and schools in the most affected districts have been advised to remain closed until conditions improve. The departments will continue to monitor the system and update the public as the situation evolves.
