At the onset of September, Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh experienced significant rainfall, prompting authorities to issue flood warnings and mobilize relief efforts.

On September 1, the hills of Uttarakhand and the plains of Madhya Pradesh received heavy rainfall, with some areas recording over 100 mm in a single day.

The deluge caused several rivers to swell, leading state meteorological departments to issue flood alerts for vulnerable districts. In Uttarakhand, the Ganges tributaries rose sharply, while in Madhya Pradesh, the Narmada and Chambal rivers approached critical levels.

State governments deployed emergency response teams, set up evacuation centers, and coordinated with the National Disaster Response Force to ensure timely assistance for displaced residents.

Meteorologists predict continued showers over the next few days, urging citizens to stay indoors, keep emergency kits ready, and monitor official advisories.
