Heavy Rainfall Expected Across Odisha to Delhi as Two Weather Systems Merge

Meteorological agencies warn of heavy rainfall from Odisha to Delhi as two weather systems converge.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert covering the stretch from Odisha to Delhi as two distinct weather systems are set to merge.

A low‑pressure system over the Bay of Bengal is colliding with a cold front advancing from the north. The convergence is expected to produce sustained showers and heavy downpours across Odisha, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Delhi.

Officials warn that the rainfall could lead to localized flooding, especially in low‑lying districts. Residents are advised to stay updated on weather bulletins and take precautionary measures.

The IMD recommends that local authorities prepare emergency response plans and that citizens avoid unnecessary travel during peak rainfall hours.
