Intense downpours in Maher, Jabalpur district have caused rivers and storm drains to overflow, submerging roads and isolating villages.
Maher in Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh experienced a sudden spell of heavy rain, turning the area into a flood‑prone zone. The deluge caused rivers and seasonal streams to surge beyond their banks, creating waterlogged conditions across several villages.
Local roads leading to the affected settlements have been inundated, cutting off vehicular access and leaving residents stranded. The Gaur Ghat bridge and the Kastara rapta, key crossing points, are currently being overtopped by fast‑moving water.
District officials have deployed emergency teams to monitor water levels and assist any stranded inhabitants. Residents are advised to avoid travel on submerged routes until the situation stabilises.
