A bout of heavy rain hit parts of Delhi, cooling the city after days of hot, humid conditions.
Heavy rain began pouring over several districts of Delhi early Wednesday, as meteorological services reported localized downpours lasting up to an hour. The precipitation was most intense in areas such as Central Delhi, South Delhi and parts of the outer ring road, according to the India Meteorological Department.
The rain brought a noticeable drop in temperature, with thermometers falling by about 4‑5°C and humidity easing after several days of oppressive heat. Residents stepped out to enjoy the cooler air, and many markets reported a surge in footfall as shoppers took advantage of the respite.
Delhi's traffic police issued advisories for commuters, warning of water‑logged roads and reduced visibility in certain corridors. While no major disruptions were reported, minor delays were noted on the Delhi‑Gurgaon expressway and in some residential lanes.
