Rainfall has intensified across several areas of Mumbai, prompting the India Meteorological Department to issue a yellow alert for the city.
Mumbai experienced a marked increase in rainfall today, with several localities reporting heavier showers than earlier in the week. The downpour has caused waterlogging in low‑lying areas and reduced visibility on major roads.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) responded by issuing a yellow alert for the city, signalling that rain intensity is expected to remain moderate to high and could affect daily activities. The alert advises residents to stay alert, avoid non‑essential travel, and follow updates from local authorities.
Authorities have mobilised municipal crews to clear drainage channels and address any immediate flooding concerns. Citizens are urged to keep windows and doors closed, secure outdoor items, and stay informed through official channels as the weather situation evolves.
