Continuous downpour for 48 hours has inundated several roads in Panna district, with rising river levels heightening flood concerns.

Panna district in Madhya Pradesh has been under relentless heavy rain for the past two days, forcing local authorities to issue flood warnings. The deluge has swamped major thoroughfares in the town, rendering them impassable and disrupting daily commutes.

Low‑lying neighborhoods and several residential houses have reported water ingress, with residents evacuating belongings to higher ground. Emergency teams have been deployed to assist affected families and to pump out water from critical areas.

River levels across the district have risen sharply, prompting officials to monitor the situation closely. While no major casualties have been reported so far, the prolonged rainfall is expected to continue, keeping the flood risk elevated.

The district administration has urged citizens to avoid non‑essential travel, stay away from waterlogged zones, and follow instructions from disaster management officials. Relief shelters have been prepared for any further escalation.

Authorities are coordinating with the state disaster response unit to ensure timely relief and to mitigate potential damage as the weather system moves onward.
