Meteorologists warned that the system could produce localized flooding, especially in the hilly and river‑inevitable zones of the state.
In Chitrakoot, the worst‑affected district, rain‑water has turned into thick mud, filling several homes to a depth of nearly five feet. The inundation forced families to relocate to temporary shelters and prompted the closure of all schools up to class 8 as a precautionary measure.
