A massive over‑dimension consignment truck traveling on GT Road in Aurangabad was held up for three hours at a railway crossing after it could not clear the overhead bridge due to its height.
A large over‑dimension consignment vehicle was moving along GT Road in Aurangabad when it approached a railway crossing that includes an overhead bridge. The truck’s height exceeded the clearance of the bridge, preventing it from passing through.
Railway officials had to arrange special measures to try and move the vehicle, but the size of the load meant it could not be extracted by the usual road‑over‑bridge (ROB) route.
As a result, train operations on the line were suspended for approximately three hours while the vehicle was held in place and alternative clearance plans were coordinated.
The disruption underscores the challenges posed by oversized freight on mixed‑use corridors and highlights the need for careful route planning for such consignments.
