Karnataka's health department has authorized the addition of dialysis units and intensive care wards at 25 major taluk hospitals to provide high‑tech treatment for rural residents.

The Karnataka health department issued an order approving upgrades to 25 major taluk hospitals across the state, authorising the establishment of new dialysis units and intensive care (ICU) wards.

The initiative is aimed at delivering high‑technology medical treatment to people living in rural areas, reducing the need for patients to travel long distances for specialized care.

Under the order, each selected taluk hospital will be equipped with modern dialysis facilities and dedicated ICU spaces, enhancing their capacity to manage critical and chronic health conditions.

The department expects the upgrades to improve health outcomes for the rural population and strengthen the overall healthcare infrastructure in the state.
