HBO has announced development of a new ‘Poison Ivy’ television series, appointing the showrunner of the upcoming ‘The Penguin’ series to lead the project.
HBO is moving ahead with a television adaptation of the DC Comics anti‑hero Poison Ivy. The network confirmed that the series is currently in development, though no official title beyond the character’s name has been disclosed.
The project will be overseen by the showrunner attached to the forthcoming ‘The Penguin’ series, signalling HBO’s strategy to create a linked slate of DC‑based shows. The choice of a proven showrunner suggests the network aims to blend the character’s iconic eco‑terrorist narrative with the tone established in its other crime‑drama offerings.
Details on casting, plot direction, or a potential release window have not been released. As of now, the series remains in the early development phase, with production timelines yet to be announced.
The information was first listed on IMDb, a database that tracks upcoming film and television projects, confirming the authenticity of the report.
