Haryana to Invest Over Rs 2,000 Crore in Rural Infrastructure, Seek NABARD Funding

The Haryana government has announced a plan to spend more than Rs 2,000 crore on rural infrastructure and is seeking additional financing from NABARD.
The state cabinet approved a rural development programme that will allocate over Rs 2,000 crore for upgrading roads, water supply, electrification and other essential services in Haryana’s villages.
While a portion of the funding will come from the state’s own budget, officials are negotiating with the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) to secure larger loans or credit lines that can complement the scheme.
The initiative is part of Haryana’s broader strategy to boost agricultural productivity, create rural jobs and improve living standards, mirroring similar infrastructure pushes in other Indian states.
Authorities expect the projects to attract private participation and generate employment, with the Rural Development Department overseeing implementation and monitoring progress.
