The Haryana government will make integrated mother‑newborn care mandatory across the state starting November 1, aiming to streamline post‑natal services.

The health department of Haryana announced that, effective November 1, all public and private health facilities in the state must implement an integrated mother‑newborn care model. The directive seeks to unify antenatal, delivery, and post‑natal services under a single framework, ensuring that mothers and infants receive coordinated medical attention throughout the perinatal period.

Under the new mandate, hospitals and clinics will be required to follow standardized protocols for screening, treatment, and follow‑up, with the aim of reducing maternal and neonatal complications. The state health ministry will issue detailed guidelines and conduct periodic audits to monitor compliance.

State officials said the move aligns with national health objectives and is expected to improve key indicators such as infant mortality and maternal health outcomes. Training programs for healthcare workers are slated to begin next month to facilitate smooth implementation.
