In the past 20 days, Haryana reported a 58% jump in dengue cases, with Gurgaon accounting for 65 of the infections, the highest in the state.
The state health department recorded a sharp 58% increase in dengue cases over the last 20 days, according to data published by The Times of India. Haryana's total tally rose to several hundred, with the city of Gurgaon contributing the largest single count of 65 confirmed infections.
Health officials have activated intensified surveillance across districts and are urging residents to eliminate standing water where mosquitoes breed. Vector control teams have been dispatched to high‑risk zones, and fogging operations are being carried out in affected neighborhoods.
The surge comes as the region approaches the monsoon season, a period traditionally associated with higher mosquito activity. Authorities have advised the public to use protective measures such as repellents, screened windows, and early medical consultation for fever symptoms to curb further spread.
