State officials say Haryana is evaluating opportunities to boost exports and attract investment through the recently concluded India‑UK Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement.
New Delhi – Haryana’s government has announced that it is reviewing potential export markets and investment projects that could arise from the India‑UK Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CETA). The initiative, highlighted by senior official Saini, aims to leverage the reduced tariff barriers and regulatory alignment promised under the pact.
According to the statement, the state will focus on sectors where it has existing strengths, such as agriculture, manufacturing, and technology services, to tap into the UK market. Officials also plan to promote Haryana‑based enterprises to British investors, emphasizing the state’s infrastructure and skilled workforce.
The move comes as both countries seek to deepen economic ties following the signing of CETA earlier this year. Haryana’s outreach is expected to complement broader national efforts to expand bilateral trade and attract foreign direct investment.
State representatives said detailed action plans will be drafted in the coming weeks, with coordination between the commerce department and industry bodies to identify concrete opportunities.
The government will monitor progress and report on outcomes as the agreement’s provisions are implemented, signalling Haryana’s proactive stance in the new trade framework.
