Investigators say Kunal, arrested earlier, acted as the conduit for firearms delivered a day before a dead‑drop, linking him to the murder of a forex‑hawala trader in Sonipat.

Police sources disclosed that a covert dead‑drop operation supplied the firearms used in the killing of a forex‑hawala trader in Sonipat last year. The weapons were reportedly handed over to couriers a day before the drop, indicating a pre‑planned supply chain.

Kunal, who has been in custody, emerged as the pivotal link between the gun shipment and the crime. Over a two‑month period, he maintained contact with known gangsters Anil Pandit and Randeep Malik, coordinating the movement of the arms.

Investigators traced the origin of the weapon to Kunal, establishing his role as the source for the murder weapon. This connection strengthens the case against the broader network suspected of facilitating illegal arms transfers.

The Haryana police have opened a wider probe into the dead‑drop mechanism and the individuals involved, emphasizing that further arrests may follow as the investigation progresses.
