The Haryana government has instructed four government medical colleges to hand over the original certificates and transcripts of MBBS graduates, citing pending delays.

New Delhi – The state administration of Haryana issued an official directive to four government medical colleges (GMCs) to provide the original academic documents of MBBS graduates without further delay. The order, circulated on the state health department’s circular, emphasizes that the certificates, mark sheets and registration papers must be handed over directly to the alumni who have completed their undergraduate medical studies.

The move comes after several graduates lodged complaints that their original documents were being held back, affecting their eligibility for postgraduate entrance exams such as NEET‑PG 2026. Officials said the directive aims to clear the backlog and ensure that aspiring doctors can register with the Medical Council of India and apply for further training.

Health Minister [Name omitted] assured that the colleges will comply within a stipulated timeframe and that a monitoring committee will verify the handover process. The state government also warned that non‑compliance could attract administrative action against the institutions.

Stakeholders, including student unions, welcomed the decision, calling it a necessary step to protect the career prospects of young doctors in Haryana.
