The Haryana government has announced a new policy to tag every cattle head, levy fines ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 21,000 on owners, and file a First Information Report on the third offence.

In a move aimed at curbing cattle theft and illegal slaughter, the Haryana government has introduced a new regulation requiring all cattle heads to be tagged.

The policy stipulates that owners who fail to comply will face a fine ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 21,000.

Moreover, the law mandates the filing of a First Information Report for the third offence.

The initiative is part of the state's broader effort to enforce animal protection laws and ensure traceability of livestock.
