The Haryana health department has introduced a digital system to track women with high‑risk pregnancies and monitor newborn care across the state.
The health ministry of Haryana has rolled out a new digital platform aimed at identifying and following up on high‑risk pregnancies throughout the state. The system will capture key medical data at the point of care and link it to a central database accessible to doctors, nurses and field health workers.
By integrating the platform with existing health records, officials intend to generate real‑time alerts when a pregnant woman or newborn requires immediate attention. The technology will also enable health officials to monitor trends, allocate resources efficiently and ensure that at‑risk cases receive timely interventions.
State authorities anticipate that the initiative will reduce maternal and infant mortality rates by improving early detection of complications and streamlining post‑natal care. The digital tool is expected to support better coordination between primary health centres, district hospitals and specialist facilities.
Implementation will begin in a phased manner, starting with pilot districts before expanding statewide, as part of Haryana’s broader effort to modernise its public health infrastructure.
