The Election Commission of India has issued 19 lakh notices in Haryana to verify and update voter rolls ahead of the upcoming elections. The notices target voters across the state to ensure accurate electoral records.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has dispatched 19 lakh notices across Haryana to verify and update the voter rolls in preparation for the forthcoming elections. The notices, which were mailed to registered voters in all districts, urge recipients to confirm their personal details and address information.

The verification process is intended to remove duplicate entries, update addresses and ensure that only eligible voters are included in the final roll. Voters who receive a notice are required to respond within a specified timeframe, either by visiting a polling station or submitting a written confirmation.

The ECI has stated that the updated rolls will be finalized before the next general elections. Failure to respond to the notice may result in the voter’s name being omitted from the roll, potentially disqualifying them from voting.

Officials say the move is part of a broader effort to maintain the integrity of the electoral process and to prevent fraud or inaccuracies in the voter database.
