The Haryana government has rolled out a new property tax policy that offers a 25% reduction for women owners, a move announced by Nayab Singh Saini.
The Haryana government has announced a new property tax policy aimed at easing the financial burden on property owners. Under the revised framework, women who own residential or commercial properties will receive a 25% reduction in their annual tax liability. The policy is expected to take effect from the beginning of the next fiscal year.
Nayab Singh Saini, a senior state official, highlighted that the measure is part of a broader effort to promote gender equity in property ownership and to encourage more women to invest in real estate. The government has set up an online portal where eligible women can submit documentation to claim the exemption.
The policy also includes provisions for a streamlined assessment process and a cap on the maximum tax payable for properties below a certain value. Officials say the initiative will generate additional revenue for the state while providing relief to a significant segment of the population.
