The Governor of Haryana emphasized that eliminating drug abuse is essential for India’s development, urging authorities and citizens to work together for a drug‑free society.

The Governor of Haryana delivered a public address stressing that a drug‑free environment is indispensable for the nation’s progress. He tied the fight against narcotics directly to the vision of “Viksit Bharat”, arguing that substance abuse undermines both social cohesion and economic growth.

In his speech, the governor called on law‑enforcement agencies, schools and community organisations to step up awareness campaigns, enforce stricter controls and expand rehabilitation services. He urged the state administration to tighten monitoring of drug supply chains and allocate additional resources for treatment centres.

The remarks arrive as several northern states report rising concerns over youth drug use. Officials said the governor’s statement will prompt a review of existing policies and reinforce collaborative efforts to achieve a drug‑free society across Haryana and beyond.
