Haryana Draft Electoral Rolls Released; 33 Lakh Names Missing

The Haryana State Election Commission has published the draft electoral rolls, revealing that more than 33 lakh voters were omitted. Citizens can verify their inclusion through the official portal.

On 15 September, the Haryana State Election Commission (HSEC) released the draft electoral rolls for the upcoming assembly elections. The document lists all registered voters and is a preliminary version that will be subject to corrections and objections.

The draft shows that over 33 lakh names are missing from the rolls, a significant gap that could affect voter representation across both rural and urban constituencies. The omission includes voters from several districts, raising concerns about potential disenfranchisement.

Citizens whose names appear absent can check their status by logging into the HSEC website and using the "Check Your Name" feature, which requires the voter ID and date of birth. Those who need assistance may also visit local election offices.

The commission has invited objections and corrections within a specified period. Once the final rolls are published, any unresolved omissions could result in voters being unable to cast their ballots.

The draft release is part of Haryana’s preparation for the assembly elections scheduled for November 2026. HSEC stresses transparency and urges voters to verify their inclusion promptly.
