New Delhi, Sep 28 (Devdiscourse) – Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar issued a directive to senior bureaucrats and field officers to strengthen the monitoring mechanisms of the state's welfare schemes. The order, conveyed in a meeting of the chief minister's office, emphasized the need for real‑time data verification, regular field audits and swift corrective action wherever irregularities are detected.
Khattar highlighted that effective supervision is essential to ensure that benefits such as pension, housing, and food security reach the intended beneficiaries without delay. He asked the departments to use existing digital platforms and to report progress weekly to the chief minister's secretariat.
The chief minister also instructed the finance and social welfare ministries to review the performance of each scheme, identify bottlenecks and propose remedial measures within the next fortnight. Officials were told to maintain transparency and keep the public informed through official portals.
These steps come amid broader efforts by the Haryana government to improve the efficiency of its social safety net and to address concerns raised by opposition parties and civil‑society groups about fund misallocation.
