Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar unveiled a seven‑point strategy aimed at eliminating illicit drug use across Haryana, outlining measures that include stricter enforcement, rehabilitation and awareness campaigns.
During a press briefing, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar presented a seven‑point plan designed to render the state drug‑free. The proposal, which the government says will be rolled out over the coming months, targets the supply chain, consumption and rehabilitation aspects of drug abuse.
The plan calls for tighter enforcement against drug trafficking, expansion of de‑addiction centres, and the launch of statewide awareness drives in schools and communities. It also seeks to improve coordination among law‑enforcement agencies, health departments and civil society groups to monitor and curb illicit drug activity.
Khattar emphasized that rising incidents of substance abuse have prompted the administration to act decisively, linking the initiative to broader public‑health and safety goals. The government will track progress through periodic reviews and will allocate resources to ensure the measures are effectively implemented.
