Harish Rao Rejects Proposed Singareni Power Deal with Rajasthan

Harish Rao, the Minister of Energy for Telangana, has publicly opposed a proposed power supply agreement between the state-owned Singareni Collieries Company and the state of Rajasthan. Rao stated that the terms of the deal could jeopardise Telangana’s energy security and place undue pressure on local resources. The opposition was voiced during a press briefing held at the Telangana Secretariat earlier this week. Analysts suggest that the disagreement may delay the finalisation of the contract and could prompt a review of the terms by both state governments.
