Rising waters of the Haora River have caused flooding in Agartala, Tripura, affecting more than a thousand residents.

The Haora River swelled this week, leading to flash flooding across parts of Agartala, the capital of Tripura. Heavy rains upstream pushed water levels beyond the riverbank, inundating low‑lying neighborhoods and disrupting daily life. Over a thousand people have been reported as directly affected by the surge, according to local observations. Authorities are monitoring the situation and have begun assessing damage to homes and infrastructure, while relief agencies stand ready to assist those displaced by the floodwaters.
