The state health department recorded 26 fresh H1N1 infections in a single day, bringing the total number of patients under hospital care to 44.

The Chhattisgarh health department announced that 26 new cases of H1N1 influenza were confirmed today, raising the count of patients receiving treatment in hospitals to 44. Health officials said the surge reflects a sharp uptick in community transmission over the past 24 hours.

Authorities have urged residents to seek immediate medical attention if they experience flu‑like symptoms such as fever, cough and body aches. They also reiterated the importance of vaccination, regular hand‑washing and avoiding crowded places during the peak season.

The department is closely monitoring the situation and has deployed additional medical staff to the affected hospitals. No fatalities have been reported so far, and the state continues to coordinate with the central health ministry to ensure adequate supplies of antiviral drugs and diagnostic kits.

Public health advisories will be updated as more data becomes available, and the department has asked schools and workplaces to remain vigilant and report any suspected cases promptly.
