A three‑day‑long missing case of a Gwalior student was resolved when Delhi police used CCTV footage and the boy’s mobile location to locate him. He had travelled to Delhi alone for sightseeing, according to his statements.
Delhi police announced on Tuesday that a student from Gwalior who had been missing for three days was located in the capital using surveillance footage and the boy’s mobile phone signal. The young man was reported missing by his family on Monday after he failed to return home from a short trip.
Investigators reviewed CCTV recordings from several transit points and traced the device’s last known coordinates, which pointed to a residential area in Delhi. The combined data enabled officers to pinpoint his whereabouts and bring him to the police station without incident.
During questioning, the student said he had travelled to Delhi on his own, motivated by a desire to explore the city’s attractions, and had not informed anyone about the plan. His parents, who were relieved to see him safe, expressed gratitude to the police for their swift action and the use of technology in the rescue.
Police officials confirmed that the case is now closed and urged the public to keep families informed of travel plans to avoid similar situations in the future.
