The Haryana capital Gurugram has been put on an outage alert as a strike by electricity workers looms.
The municipal administration of Gurugram has issued an outage alert in anticipation of a strike by power sector employees scheduled for later this week.
The strike, called by the state electricity workers' union, is expected to halt routine maintenance and repair activities, potentially disrupting supply to commercial and residential customers across the city.
City officials have urged consumers to conserve electricity, avoid non‑essential usage, and report any prolonged outages to the helpline. Backup generators are being readied at critical facilities such as hospitals and data centres.
The alert follows similar precautions taken in other parts of Haryana during past labor actions, where temporary blackouts have been reported.
