Gujarat's Rural Reconstruction Unit has launched three capacity‑building courses in Fiji, enrolling 180 officials from nine Pacific nations.
Gujarat's Rural Reconstruction Unit (RRU) has inaugurated three capacity‑building programmes in Suva, Fiji, targeting officials from nine Pacific Island nations.
The courses, designed to enhance public‑service skills, will accommodate a total of 180 participants drawn from countries such as Fiji, Samoa, Tonga, Vanuatu and others.
The initiative, part of Gujarat’s outreach to strengthen ties with the Pacific region, is being funded by the state government and will run over the next few weeks, with modules covering governance, disaster management and sustainable development.
Officials attending the training will receive certificates and are expected to apply the knowledge to improve administrative efficiency back home, officials said.
The RRU’s effort underscores Gujarat’s growing role in international cooperation, especially in capacity building for developing nations.
