Gujarat University launches two faculty schemes: book‑publication funding and research grants

Gujarat University disclosed on Monday that it will roll out two major schemes aimed at its teaching staff. The first scheme will provide financial assistance to faculty members for publishing books, covering costs such as printing, editing and marketing. The second scheme will allocate research grants to support scholarly projects, enabling teachers to undertake field work, data collection and collaborative studies.
The university said the measures are intended to boost academic output and raise the institution’s research profile nationally and internationally. By easing the financial burden of publishing, the university hopes more faculty will contribute monographs and textbooks that benefit students and the wider community.
Officials added that eligibility criteria and application procedures will be released in the coming weeks, and that the schemes will be funded from the university’s development budget.
