The central government has approved a second instalment of Rs 275 crore for Gujarat and Sikkim under the Prime Minister’s Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (PM‑RKVY) Krishonnati scheme.

The Union Ministry announced that Gujarat and Sikkim will each receive a share of the Rs 275 crore released as the second tranche of the PM‑RKVY Krishonnati Yojana. The allocation is part of the central government's continued effort to boost agricultural productivity and farmer incomes across the country. Under the scheme, funds are intended to support state‑level initiatives such as technology adoption, capacity building, and market linkage projects for small and marginal farmers. Officials indicated that the disbursement will be transferred to the respective state agriculture departments within the next few weeks, enabling them to commence planned activities before the upcoming sowing season. The move follows the successful implementation of the first tranche, which reportedly helped improve irrigation infrastructure and seed distribution in both states.
