Heavy monsoon rains have disrupted school schedules in Gujarat, prompting officials to permit classes on holidays so that the academic syllabus can be completed.
Officials from Gujarat's education department announced that schools affected by recent heavy rainfall may conduct sessions on regular holidays to make up for lost teaching days.
The decision comes after monsoon showers caused waterlogging and temporary closures across several districts, leading to a shortfall in instructional time for students.
Under the new directive, schools can schedule remedial classes on Saturdays, public holidays or any other non‑teaching day, provided they obtain prior approval from the district education officer.
