The Gujarat Police announced the addition of 500 new 112 Janrakshak vehicles, bringing the state's emergency response fleet to a total of 1,000.

The Gujarat Police has unveiled a plan to expand its 112 emergency response fleet by 500 Janrakshak vehicles. The move will raise the total number of dedicated emergency response units in the state to 1,000, enhancing rapid assistance for citizens across urban and rural areas.

The Janrakshak vehicles are equipped to handle a range of emergencies, from medical crises to road accidents, and are integrated with the state's 112 helpline system. Officials say the expansion aims to reduce response times and improve coordination among police, health services, and disaster management teams.

The procurement of the additional vehicles is part of a broader initiative to modernize the state's policing infrastructure. Training for drivers and emergency responders is slated to begin shortly, ensuring that the new fleet can be deployed efficiently once it arrives.

State authorities have not disclosed the exact budget for the acquisition, but they emphasized that the enhancement reflects a commitment to public safety and faster emergency service delivery throughout Gujarat.
