The Gujarat police have taken into custody an additional 13 individuals in connection with the illegal liquor (hooch) scandal in Bhavnagar, bringing the total number of arrests to 27.

Senior police officials, who declined to be named, stated that the latest batch of arrests was based on fresh intelligence and forensic evidence collected from seized bottles. They added that investigations are ongoing and that those held will face charges under the Indian Penal Code and the Food Safety and Standards Act.
The department has urged the public to refrain from purchasing unlicensed alcoholic beverages and to report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station. Further updates are expected as the case proceeds through the judicial system.
