Gujarat authorities have taken an ex‑member of the PAAS into custody on allegations of forging passport documents.

Gujarat police have detained a former member of the PAAS on suspicion of involvement in a passport fraud scheme. The arrest was made following a preliminary investigation that linked the individual to the creation of counterfeit passport documents.
According to a police spokesperson, forensic analysis of the forged passports revealed inconsistencies that prompted a deeper probe, leading to the suspect's apprehension.
Under the Indian Passport Act, forging or using fraudulent passport documents is a non‑bailable offence punishable with imprisonment and fines. The accused will appear before a magistrate in the coming days.
Investigators have said that the case is part of a broader effort to curb illegal passport activities in the state and will continue to examine any networks associated with the fraud.
