Several pilgrims from Gujarat traveling to Mount Kailash have been reported missing after severe floods swept parts of the Nepalese route.
Heavy monsoon rains triggered flash floods in the remote districts of Nepal that lie on the traditional pilgrimage corridor to Mount Kailash. The sudden surge of water washed away bridges and road sections, halting the flow of pilgrims heading north from India. Among those caught in the disaster were a group of devotees from Gujarat, who have not been accounted for since the floodwaters receded. Local authorities in Nepal have launched search operations, deploying rescue teams and helicopters to scour the affected valleys. Indian officials have been informed, and families of the missing pilgrims are being urged to cooperate with the ongoing investigations, while religious leaders have appealed for prayers, saying the outcome is "in God’s hands."
