A Gujarat resident transferred Rs 3 crore to fraudsters after receiving an urgent money transfer request from someone posing as his boss.
The victim said he received an order that appeared to come from his superior, urging an immediate transfer of funds for an urgent business need.
Believing the request to be genuine, he processed the transaction and sent Rs 3 crore to the bank account provided by the sender.
Later, when he tried to confirm the transfer with his actual office, he learned that no such request had been made and realized he had been duped by an impersonator.
