The Gujarat government has inaugurated 139 new buses to improve transport for tribal students as part of the Birsa Munda scheme.
The Gujarat government today flagged off 139 new buses aimed at easing travel for tribal students across the state. The buses are part of the Birsa Munda transport scheme, a government initiative designed to provide safe and reliable transport to students from tribal communities.
The launch ceremony was attended by state officials and representatives from the Ministry of Tribal Affairs. The new fleet is expected to cover several remote villages, reducing the distance students must travel to reach schools.
Officials highlighted that the scheme will also improve punctuality and safety, as the buses are equipped with modern amenities and will be operated by trained drivers.
The government plans to monitor the impact of the new buses on student attendance and academic performance over the coming academic year.
