The Gujarat government has set up a panel to formulate a promotion quota policy for employees with disabilities.
The state government of Gujarat has constituted a dedicated panel to design a promotion‑quota framework for staff members who are differently‑abled. The panel’s mandate is to recommend concrete guidelines that will ensure equitable career advancement opportunities for disabled employees across public and private sectors.
Officials said the move reflects Gujarat’s broader commitment to inclusive employment practices and aligns with national directives on disability rights. The panel will review existing reservation norms, assess workplace accessibility, and propose measurable targets for promotions.
The committee is expected to submit its draft policy within the next few months after consulting industry bodies, disability advocacy groups, and labour experts. Once finalised, the policy will be implemented by relevant ministries and corporate entities to promote a more inclusive work environment.
