Gujarat has rolled out 500 Janrakshak patrol vehicles as part of a plan to bring average police response time down to under eight minutes.

Gujarat government has introduced 500 new Janrakshak vehicles across the state to strengthen police patrol capabilities.

The deployment is a core element of a broader initiative aimed at reducing the average police response time to less than eight minutes, a target set by state authorities.

Each Janrakshak vehicle is equipped with modern communication tools and safety gear, and they will be stationed in key districts and urban centres. Training programs for officers on the new fleet are already underway.

Officials say the added fleet will accelerate emergency handling and improve public safety, particularly in densely populated areas.

The move aligns with recent efforts to modernise law‑enforcement infrastructure throughout Gujarat.
