Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, on a visit to the United States, highlighted Gujarat’s readiness to become a centre for semiconductor manufacturing and financial technology, seeking foreign investment.

Gujarat’s chief minister Bhupendra Patel arrived in the United States this week to promote the western Indian state as a destination for high‑tech investment. In a series of meetings with American investors and industry groups, Patel emphasized Gujarat’s existing semiconductor ecosystem, its network of industrial parks and the state’s policy framework aimed at attracting large‑scale manufacturing.

The CM outlined incentives such as tax rebates, streamlined land allocation and a skilled workforce that can support both chip fabrication and fintech startups. He pointed to recent projects in the state that demonstrate a growing capability in electronics design and digital payments infrastructure.

Patel’s pitch is part of a broader effort to diversify Gujarat’s economy beyond traditional sectors and to position it alongside global technology hubs. The delegation expects to secure memoranda of understanding that could translate into new factories and research centres within the next two years.
