Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel arrived in Surat on Thursday to personally review the flood situation that has been affecting the city for the past week.
During his visit, the CM inspected inundated areas in the eastern and western parts of the city, noting that water levels remained high despite recent rainfall easing.
He met with municipal officials and emergency response teams, emphasizing the need for swift deployment of rescue equipment and the establishment of temporary shelters for displaced residents.
The CM also directed state agencies to accelerate the clearing of drainage channels and to ensure that critical infrastructure such as roads and bridges is restored to safe condition.
